Shas'o smiled again. He read the doubt on Crynth's face. The other man - Derek, if his memory served him correctly - had puppet strings obviously wrapped around his fingers. That could be solved.
"Well, Andro, how do you think we'll fare?" the monk said, leaning nonchalantly on his simple staff. "You and me, no magic, against two dozen guards?"

Andro gave Shas'o a deadpan look. "You have got to be kidding me."
The monk just smiled back in response as the guards tensed up, ready for sudden action.
"Fine. Catch." Without warning, Andro picked Kimochi up under her arms and threw like a sack of potatoes over the heads of the guards standing between the paladin and the satyr. The guards shouted, drawing weapons. But they weren't fast enough, and Andro bowled through them like a bull, throwing most of them off balance.
Shas'o caught Kimochi lightly, and set her on the ground, urging her to flee as Andro turned back to back with him. The monk brandished his staff, and the paladin brandished his glimmering sword.
"Ready?" Andro snarled to Shas'o with a mean grin.

As blows bloodied the guards' faces, Terrus simply watched. "So much for a simple item exchange," he muttered to himself, turning away from the fight as if to avoid recognition by the paladin and monk. After all, with a horde of guards blocking the doors, might as well wait until the fighting subsided.

Kimochi was a bit too busy being shocked to think immediately, but she didn't want to flee her friends. But Blinksys was her friend too, and she knew the guards...why did they have to fight each other?
Magically magnifying her voice with determination, she cried out, "STOP IT!" The fighting paused out of surprise as the little girl ran between Andro and one of her guard friends. "Why are you doing this? I don't understand! Can't we not fight? Blink-sama...what's going on?"
Oh. Duh...Kimochi sensed for magic and found the charm Derek had put on Blinksys just as he started to respond...
